blog spammers?

I was looking at my web server's error log and I noticed that there are ip addresses attemping to run old scripts that have been disabled for quite some time.

the goal of these bots is to place comment span on out old movable type blog system.

what's really strange is that i was able to telnet (accidentally; my mind thought "tracert", my hands typed "telnet") into one of the ip addresses, and I reached a program called ccproxy, where I am allowed to open any additional telnet connection to elsewhere.

how is ccproxy used by these spammers, and what, if anything, can i do with the open door?

Sadly, the legitimate owner of this machine might have no idea this is happening.

telnet 211.234.93.146 . (Link expected to eventually stop working)

a "who done it"

Last night I noticed that someone had uploaded Who Killed the Electric Car to google video. today it's gone.

did you know that it's not as hard as you might think to copy a video off of google video? I figured it out! I'll tell you maybe if you ask nicely. but for now, watch this.
