Bill Tozier has made an interesting move to cash-in on his abstract capital: an Erdös number of 4. Through eBay, he has arranged to sell the privilege of having an Erdös number of 5 by collaborating with him on a publication. I am tempted to bid-- as much to have his ear (and brains) for a substantial period of time, as the prestige afforded by the number. However, I am both poor and motivated to earn that number (and privilege of co-authorship) the old fashioned way. Nevertheless: brilliant sale Bill!
Posted by John at April 20, 2004 11:11 PMDon't forget -- I have an unlimited supply! What's that do to the price, eventually?
Patience, my friend. Patience.
(Welcome back, BTW. I was getting worried, coming here every day and seeing no changes.)
Posted by: Bill Tozier at April 21, 2004 04:19 AMI'm pretty sure you will be fine, unless you are too free with your E#-- market saturation and all that. However, others also have an infinite supply…
Thanks for the welcome back; I appreciate your concern. My site will not fall into disrepair. Actually, I am giving thought to revamping it, or, at least, adding trackback and other neat-o features.
Posted by: John at April 21, 2004 09:03 AMI sincerely hope Bill breaks minimum wage.
Total as of 8:21 P.M. Pacific 4/21/04: US $83.00. He will work up-to 40hrs, so he is at $2.075/hr.
Let’s hope he makes $280 or so total by close.
Posted by: John at April 21, 2004 08:28 PMYah, welcome back. So....is Ada fixed?
Also I will see you and Dani in about a week? =)
Posted by: wings at April 22, 2004 09:20 AMThanks Michelle; 'Ada' is history, now we have '42'.
Yes, we'll see you then. :)
