More Movies

  • Finding Neverland **** Too precious by half, but good nonetheless.
  • Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow * Ack... shizer!
  • Freaks & Geeks: Disc 1, 2000 ***** Pitch-perfect high school melodrama, full of humor and pathos.

Hey. Don't knock Sky Captain. I had a perfectly wonderful time at that movie.

Admittedly, this was more to do with who I was with and less to do with that pulp movie. But I have a fondness for it still.

Was it the incoherent plotting or the wooden acting that got you?

I'll be honest, John. I don't think I paid attention to the last third of the movie. It was a neat style, and decent enough story idea. But the fact that they tried to pull a 2 hour movie out of 40 minutes of material didn't help.

Just wait until you watch the rest of Freaks and Geeks. It only gets better.

Sky Captain is fucking awful. Most of the movie takes place in that fucking cockpit, just Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow talking to each other. Dull, dull, stupid, dull.
