For such a small sample this list is pretty representative of my listening habits, though it has missed my interest in Baroque-era composers, classic rockers, and socially conscious hip-hoppers.
I spent a good deal of the day listening to Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, David Brubeck, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker, singly and in combination. I adore every one of them. My knowledge of the contemporary jazz scene is poor, so I wonder—are there comparable artists (yes, I know that Brubeck is alive) performing today?
