Pseudorandom Music Sample

A challenge from Feministe (via Pharyngula): open up your mp3 player and list the first ten random songs from it.

Title
Artist
Disseminated Soul Coughing
Take Five Dave Brubeck
Music Evolution Buckshot LeFonque
Sex Machine James Brown
Electioneering Radiohead
Hung My Head Johnny Cash
Cowboy Dan Modest Mouse
Deceptacon Le Tigre
Minnie the Moocher Cab Calloway
Sheep Go to Heaven Cake

For such a small sample this list is pretty representative of my listening habits, though it has missed my interest in Baroque-era composers, classic rockers, and socially conscious hip-hoppers.

Jazz Pantheon

I spent a good deal of the day listening to Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, David Brubeck, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker, singly and in combination. I adore every one of them. My knowledge of the contemporary jazz scene is poor, so I wonder—are there comparable artists (yes, I know that Brubeck is alive) performing today?
