My hobbies include composing electronic music, playing and making computer games, doodling, e-zine publishing, hiking, reading, writing (fiction, nonfiction, plays and poetry) and being an all around media junky (news, music, movies etc.). Here are a few things I have made.

Disclaimer: The following music, papers and programs were made by an interested layperson, not a professional-- do not take them too seriously. Comments and questions (as always) are welcome.

Music

These are all in MP3 format.

  • Didgiridoo Madness: (1.8 MB) This is the first thing I whipped up on Acid Pro 3.0 using samples of didgiridoos and drumloops.
  • That Boy Can Move: (2.5 MB) Quite a silly song. I have been told that a line in it sounds more like "fat boy can move" than "that boy can move". This was not my intent.
  • If It Itches... : (2.2 MB) I listened to a great deal of DJ Logic while making this, which helps to explain its sound. It is too busy.

Nonacademic Papers

  • Homerman:  This play is a parody of Everyman (a mediaeval morality play) featuring the cast of the Simpsons. I co-wrote this with Otis while in highschool. It is full of grammatical errors and obvious jokes.

Programs

  • Digital I Ching: (105KB) This is a program that automates the I Ching. I wrote this for my final in Chinese Philosophy. Though I find nothing prophetic about the I Ching, I am fascinated by its mathematical properties and the impulse that its originators had in capturing the world in a combinatorial system.
  • Zelda Redux: (To big to put on line as of yet) I made this with Game Maker 4 (a fun program, now in version 5.2, that cuts down on the tedium of game programming).
